The author Elbow, discusses the importance of voice and how it effects what people read. Voice effects make a paper rhetorically effective. Elbow also talks about the use of ethos, pathos, and logos. Ethos is credibility, pathos is emotion, and logos is logic. He then goes on to explain reasons for not attending voice in text. Ignoring voice is key to effectively reading a passage, and its very important in teaching others how to write.
II. Conversation
This article compares to Greene's article because voice and the use of framing are mostly the same. Using voice and or framing effectively is key to writing a good paper. Voice and framing can also change the readers perspective which make the two articles very similar.
III. Assigned Exercises
QDJ
1.) How do you define voice? Have you encountered different definitions of voice in the past and how do they compare to Elbow's definition of voice?
A: My definition of voice is how an author writes. It gives the writer its own personal style of writing and his or her own perspective which makes the way they write unique. Elbows definition of voice is basically the same as my definition.
AEI
1.) Elbow identifies two kinds of voices linked to any writer: sincerity and resonance. Can you write single sentence definitions, using your own words, for sincerity and resonance? And if you struggle with this exercise, what does this say about trying to use them in your own writing?
A: Sincerity is the use of voice that is more serious then a normal type of writing. Sincerity can make the reader buy in to exactly what the author is trying to convey in their article. Sincerity is mainly used when someone is apologizing or proposing an idea to their audience.

If Elbow
doesn't believe in compromise and yet he believes that both of his perspectives
on voice must coexist for good writing, how do you make that happen in your own
writing (whether you're working on an academic paper or a creative work)? Do
you believe this to be possible?
A: Voice is always going to be used in any type writing. When writing an academic paper however you want to restrain as much as possible from using voice. I think it is possible though for voice and perpective to write a good paper. You just have to use it at appropriate times to make using voice and perspective effective.
IV. Personal Reflection
I thought this article was effective. Learning when and when not to use voice is something that i find to be very important especially when writing an academic paper. Using perspective and voice effectively can be the difference from a good to a great paper.
When compared to your previous RRs, this one is a little lacking. To me, as a reader, it appears that this was a tad rushed (or you just did not connect with the reading all that well). I understand that life happens and you may have had certain constraints that effected your engagement with this article. This is fine, but make sure to not make a habit out of it! =)
